Philosophical Inquiry

We will follow the five steps of inquiry as described in this article:

Steps

Engage: Use the 3-2-1 Bridge exercise to develop a philosophical question that is meaningful to you. What are the philosophical roots/foundations of your question? (200-word minimum)

Explore: identify and research five (5) sources relevant to your question. Summarize these sources in a paragraph each and identify common themes. Also, refer to First Peoples Principals of Learning and Professional Standards for BC Educators and write a paragraph about how this applies to your question. (500 -600 words minimum)

Explain: Revise your original questions & complete the second step of the 3-2-1 Bridge Exercise. What are the weaknesses and counter-arguments? Be descriptive. (300 -400 words minimum)

Elaborate: What will this look like in the classroom? Describe two or three teaching strategies which could be used to implement these findings in your classroom or in your practice. Link to BC curriculum and the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and write a reflection about its meaning (300-400 words minimum for this section)

Evaluate: Respond to your question by writing a personal blog post summarizing your inquiry according to your findings. (250-300 words minimum).
